Poll #4 Results: Who Is Maximus Chrome?* You Voted for Mr. Weatherbee!!!

Last week, I started a new poll asking you to guess the identity of Archie Comics' convention-themed character, Maximus Chrome. I had learned that ARCHIE: COMIC CON CHAOS was going to be made available at this month's San Diego Comic Con and thought it might be fun to guess the identity of this costumed trickster.

I offered three different options to vote for: Dilton Doiley, Kevin Keller, and Mr. Weatherbee. Here are how the votes emerged:

Kevin Keller: 3 votes
Mr. Weatherbee: 3 votes

Because of the tie vote, my son D'Angelo was chosen to cast the winning vote.

And the tie-breaking winning vote* was awarded to... Mr. Weatherbee!!!

I misread the promotional materials related to Maximus Chrome and the ARCHIE: COMIC CON CHAOS comic book. It was actually a reprint storyline, originally written (I believe) last summer. I ended up purchasing a digital copy of this storyline and Husband Mark remembered leafing through it at the comic book shop many months back. So... I sheepishly need to report that the true secret identity of Maximus Chrome is... Mr. Lodge!!!

That's correct. Mr. Lodge had the engineers at his corporate think-tank create a remote-controlled Transformer-like robot so that he could prevent Archie Andrews from winning the Comic Con costume contest and taking his daughter on unlimited movie dates (the Comic Con costume prize).

I apologize for stumbling with this particular poll. But it was still kind of fun imaging Mr. Weatherbee crammed in that small-waisted robot costume!
