Iowa City Police Seeking Accused Thief // UPDATE: Suspect Arrested

(Originally written on 09/20/12): The Iowa City Police released yet another request for public assistance today. This time police are seeking a man whom they think stole a credit card and subsequently used it to make unauthorized purchases at Liquor Downtown and Mega Bite. The theft and purchases happened on September 7th. The attached image is one of the suspect and was obtained from video surveillance footage at Liquor Downtown.

Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers are offering an award of up to $1,000 to you if you can provide information leading to that suspect's arrest. The number you can call is 358-8477.

Updated on 09/23/12: KCJJ reported an arrest in this case earlier today:
Iowa City Police have arrested an identity theft suspect accused of using a stolen credit card to make purchases in downtown Iowa City... That man has now been identified as 18-year-old Undrea Trevelle Hatchett of Oak Lake Park Road in Coralville. Upon his arrest Hatchett denied stealing the card but admitted to using it fraudulently. He’s charged with Forgery and Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card. If convicted he faces a maximum of seven years in prison.
