Discussing NARTH: Does NARTH Believe that Homosexuality is Bad?

I started a series on this blog last month, which is a continuation of a conversation about NARTH on Andrew Marin's blog.  Frankly, I have very little interest in NARTH and this whole endeavor feels like a junior high book report.  But it's been started, so here we go...

Does NARTH believe that "homosexuality is bad"?  This was a point of contention for ChrisZ, who cited NARTH's mission statement as evidence that NARTH absolutely does not believe that homosexuality is bad:
We respect the right of all individuals to choose their own destiny. NARTH is a professional, scientific organization that offers hope to those who struggle with unwanted homosexuality. As an organization, we disseminate educational information, conduct and collect scientific research, promote effective therapeutic treatment, and provide referrals to those who seek our assistance.

NARTH upholds the rights of individuals with unwanted homosexual attraction to receive effective psychological care and the right of professionals to offer that care. We welcome the participation of all individuals who will join us in the pursuit of these goals.
A quick review of NARTH's origins shows an organization that rejected the APA's belief that homosexuality is not a mental illness.  I have yet to find a single piece of NARTH-generated research that establishes anything remotely positive about gay people.

Additionally, while stating in its mission statement that NARTH only wants people with unwanted same-sex attraction to have a therapeutic option for change, their leaders testify in court to prevent gay people with wanted same-sex attraction from adopting children.  NARTH has issued numerous articles disparaging our families and our marriages.  NARTH has expressed concerned over legislation that would protect GLBT people from employment discrimination.  In other words, they respect people's choice to go to therapy to seek change, but they don't respect other GLBT people enough to stay out of our business.

That said, I see little to nothing that demonstrates to me that NARTH believes that homosexuality is or ever can be good or even neutral.

I am ashamed to say that I had never even heard of this organization! Thanks so much for the introduction. And thank you for getting the word out!
