Ocotomom Receiving Death Threats for Going on Welfare

I learned yesterday via TMZ that Nadya Suleman (AKA "Octomom") recently applied for and was approved for welfare benefits:
The mother of 14 is getting $2,000 a month from the State of California. The money is deposited directly into a special debit card account (see above). The card can ONLY be used for food -- and it's closely monitored by the State to make sure the cardholder isn't making illegal purchases -- i.e., buying a bike at Costco.

It's a cruel twist, for a woman who vowed in 2010 -- a year after giving birth to octuplets -- she would NEVER go on welfare, saying she refused to become "a self-fulfilling prophecy" by accepting government assistance.

Octo qualified for the card because her income is less than $119,000 a year ... and a family of 15 that makes less than that amount is entitled to welfare benefits. In case you're wondering, the $119,000 figure is based on an average of just under $8,000 for each member of the household.
Suleman became infamous when she delivered octuplets in January 2009, despite already being a single mother of six children. All of her children were conceived through in vitro fertilization from an unknown donor. Since then, she has struggled to care for her 14 children and to maintain a home through a variety of ventures, including paid interviews, MMA fighting, modeling, and most recently topless modeling. Unfortunately, it's not been enough.

Unfortunately, Suleman has reportedly begun receiving death threats and other nasty phone calls since TMZ broke this welfare story yesterday. I can't imagine calling up a stranger and leaving threatening messages. Check out this report:
Hours of after TMZ broke the story yesterday, our sources say Nadya Suleman started getting angry and threatening phone calls from blocked numbers, emails, and Facebook messages such as ... "Die bitch. I’m not working for your f**king kids, you’re the one that wanted them."

We're told Octo had to hang up on several irate callers, but not before they spewed choice words like:

-- "You're going to get yours."
-- "I'm not working to f**king pay --."
-- "F**k you, you don't deserve --." ...

Despite the threats, we're told Octo has not called the cops ... yet.
Let's keep in mind that Suleman is actually acquiring income -- just not enough to support herself and all of her children. I agree that she should have thought out the financial consequences of having 14 kids before conceiving them. God knows I know how tight it can get sometimes with only two boys. I cannot imagine supporting 14 kids. But people are threatening her for seeking food assistance for her kids. I mean, that's the sin of Sodom right there. Assuming that these death threat reports are accurate, Suleman needs to follow up and report them to the police -- for her safety and for the safety of her children.
