Who's the Biggest Loser?

A couple months ago, I wrote about the mutiny on the set of NBC's The Biggest Loser. It quickly became the third most popular post on this blog, especially during the past month. The Season 13 finale aired tonight and it's only fair to identify this season's Biggest Loser. It was 22-year-old Jeremy Britt! Jeremy ended up losing 199 pounds (389 lbs. to 190 lbs!) over the course of seven months. That's nearly 52% of his BMI!

There's only one loser on this show (well, two if you count the at-home Biggest Loser -- Mike Messina, who lost 160 pounds or 44.59% of his BMI), but it was really neat to see all of the returning contestants. Pretty much everyone continued to lose weight while at home. It's likely that many of them will put back on some of their newly lost weight now that the push of the program is off their back, but I really hope all of these folks do their best to keep of the weight for good!

By the way, it's been a while since I've seen a The Biggest Loser season finale. Is this the first time that they've had the finalists enter the stage along with holographic versions of their Day One selves?

Congratulations, Jeremy!
