Local Residents Rally at "Justice for Trayvon"

A group of people from and around Iowa City gathered last night to protest the not guilty verdict in the 2nd degree murder trial against Florida's George Zimmerman against Trayvon Martin. You can read about it here. There is also a video of some reactions to the verdict immediately below:

Very ugly situation. Reminds me of the bad old days when racists could murder people of color, confident that they'd never be tried and/or convicted of a crime. A lot of the focus right now is on Zimmerman and his wacko family, but it should be on Florida's homicide-inviting Stand Your Ground laws. They are what made the "not guilty" verdict possible. Those laws need repealing, like, yesterday!
