Gay Marriage Pie

The Chicago Sun-Times published an article with a bunch of LGBT stats, including a pie chart of U.S. states where gay marriage is allowed, where an existing ban is being contested, and where a ruling in favor of gay marriage has been stayed by a state or federal court. The pie chart represents total population, not number of states:
When you break it down, 19 states plus Washington D.C. allow same-sex marriage. 9 states have had their same-sex marriage bans successfully overturned by a court, but has a stay in place while those decisions go through appeals. And an additional 22 states currently have ongoing court challenges on existing same-sex marriage bans. There currently is no state whose same-sex marriage ban is not being challenged.
