Three LGBT Contestants on this Season's "Big Brother 17"

"Big Brother 17" started last week and we learned, among other things, that this is the most LGBT representative cast in American Big Brother history.

Here is what I'm talking about:

First, we have Audrey. Audrey is a 25-year-old digital media consultant from Georgia. She is athletic and appears -- from watching the feeds -- to be a bit of a trickster. Audrey is also the first transgender contestant to compete in Big Brother history. She came out to the other houseguests fairly early -- which was probably a wise move. Unfortunately, she had to come out twice as a second group of houseguests were introduced to the Big Brother House on the second night. So far, this revelation hasn't caused her any trouble. But we shall see how long this tolerance lasts.

Then there is Vanessa. Vanessa is a 32-year-old professional poker player from Las Vegas. In other words, she's all about the bluff! She is also fairly athletic and competitive. And, according to the show, was once engaged to a guy, but is now with another woman. I'm not sure if she's out yet to the house about being bi.

And lastly, we have Jason. Jason is a 25-year-old cashier who lives in his mother's basement. He's quick-witted and has a strong personality. This gay guy has already won one of the first two "Battle of the Block" competitions. As such, he gets to nominate two people for eviction. Normally, I think that it's crazy to get the Head of Household job during the first week, but Jason is pretty scrawny. He won his competition with pretty much no effort. This initial win might actually serve him well in the short-term.
