Josie & the Pussycats VS Alexandra in B&V FRIEND COMICS DOUBLE DIGEST #244!

I wrote late last month about a cool short story featuring Sabrina the Teenage Witch in one of the recent digests -- drawn by one of my favorite contemporary artists, Gisele. I noted before that she gave me a heads-up about another upcoming commissioned story for Archie Comics, except this one would feature Josie and the Pussycats. I've been waiting for months, but the wait is finally over!

Check out B&V FRIENDS COMICS DOUBLE DIGEST #244, which just got published this week. It features a great lead story featuring Josie and the Pussycats -- but really starring Alexandra!

It seems that the Pussycats are auditioning for a summer concert series. No problem, right? Wrong! Alexandra is in town and she wants that concert series spot -- and she really has no qualms about knocking Josie, Valerie, and Melody out of the competition!

Every time Alexandra pulls her gremlin act, Josie comes up with a new performance solution. Which means that Alexandra has to keep rising to the occasion. But how far will she go to ruin things for the Pussycats??

"Showstopper" is written by J. Torres, penciled by Gisele, inked by Rich Koslowski, lettered by Jack Morelli, and colored b Digikore Studios.

LOVE Gisele's artwork . . . wish she did more. With Archie Comics' recent re-boot, that's probably unlikely, though. If only the company would take my suggestion and make Alexandra the Pussycats' producer! To just portray her as a jealous hanger-on is a waste of a great character. She should not still be trying to sabotage the band; that storyline is old! Instead, Xandii should be competing with Josie for Alan M's affections again, as well as fighting with her in the studio over the band's musical direction. (As you know, in my take on Josie + The Pussy Cats, Xandii marries Alan M, Valerie marries Alexander, and Josie explores her bisexuality . . .)
