Omaha, IA: Tiger Bites Woman After She Snuck Into the Henry Doorly Zoo

A 33-year-old woman has been accused by Omaha police of breaking into the Henry Doorly Zoo so that she could pet a tiger? Their evidence? One of the tigers apparently bit her!
Police said officers were called to Creighton University Medical Center around 7:20 a.m. Sunday after the Jacqueline Eide, 33, showed up with a hand injury. Officer James Shade says the woman acted aggressively and appeared to be intoxicated.

Police determined that Eide snuck into the zoo to try to pet a tiger. She was bitten when she reached into the animal's cage.
It does not appear that Eide was arrested. Instead, she was ticketed and charged with trespassing.

Well, I mean, she'd already been bitten by a tiger. Arresting her would be almost beside the point, wouldn't it.

Wow!

I was confused by the mugshot, but it looks like she's been arrested several times before (according to a CNN report that I read later).

Poor thing. I can only imagine the current state of her hand!

Reminded me of a tiger attack at the SF zoo on Christmas day a few years ago. Some teens were harassing the animals when one leaped from the grotto and killed one of the boys. This woman was lucky it was just her hand.
